Reno Running...

Isn't it funny...our Sunday run 7 days ago was one of the nastiest long runs I've ever experienced...and then a week later--the skies are clear, there's not a hint of wind, and the temperature rose to hover around 60 degrees!

I really enjoyed our run today.

Thank you Pastor Louie for joining us! I particularly enjoyed your rendition of "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" as we ascended El Diablo--it was downright inspirational! And I have never felt safer than I did today running along side of that radically reflective green vest.
Next week we'll get back to another LSD run (long, slow distance) as the Marathoners will reach for 16 miles, and the Halfers will be doing either 12 or 10.
Believe it or not, we have only 3 more Long runs until the race! Take care of yourself this week--don't push too hard on your short runs and BE SURE to rest your legs next Saturday.

Dennis,
I won't be there next week. I don't know if I have the dedication to run 16 on my own. Do you recommend just sticking with the half this year? I think I may be too far behind to get caught up for the full 26. Let me know.

Hoo! Thanks for letting me jump in with you - I had big fun too. Watching the Masai run is a sight to behold...

Interesting run today. Not too bad, but I reaffirmed my disdain for el diablo. I thought I was doing pretty good, then the ladies blew past me in a fury. I didn't have it in me to keep, but I did think about running midweek.

I was not one of those ladies--bummer....
Will definitely not eat an apple fritter next Sunday morning.
See you all then...

It's not a race Brother. Getting beat by Jess & SueM doesn't mean you're bad. Just slower than them two girls. & it's not like they couldn't kick your butt anyway.

Wow, quite an outfit that Louie had on. Nice vest and stick. I think this beats my pink water bottles.

Matty...YES you can still do it. If you can keep up your short runs during the week, and then run 15 miles on Mar.25 (check your schedule), you can safely train up to 18 miles by April 15th, and then run 26 on May 6th. You'll be a little sore for a while after the race, but you'll do it.

Matt, you're nuts if you go for the marathon. Be an underachiever with me. I need a partner.
